Each team follows a structured discipleship programme. On your own and in the team, discover what it means to be a Christ-centered disciple, how to develop in Christian character, how to have victory over sin, and how to grow toward maturity in your daily walk with God. Keep a diary of activities and prayer.

Living with others in the team can be challenging, but it is one of the best ways to learn Christian servanthood and experience being a part of the Body of Christ.

We have a strong focus on prayer, and encourage you to spend a lot of time with God on your own. We also pray together as a team, and have set 'Prayer Nights', where we pray for the world.

Each TEA participant sets goals for their growth during the team. Regular evaluations are held to help you refocus on the goals, and come up with strategies to achieve them.

Your TEA leaders are experienced in evangelism and discipleship training, and are there to share their skills and support you as you grow.

For those with English as a second language, spending ten weeks in an English-speaking environment will help you gain confidence and skill in speaking, reading and writing in English. Operation Mobilisation New Zealand also offers English classes with qualified teachers, and we can arrange for you to study for as long as you like before joining the team.

I found out that Jesus is THE reason for my life and that it's all about Him, not me.

I didn't know how to study the Bible in Japan. But the discipleship book - it made me jump, because it had what I wanted to know. I could know more about Jesus.
